March 10, 2010 - Community Partnership for Child Development received a $35,000 Daniels Fund grant to support family services for the Colorado Preschool Program. “Through classes and homes visits focusing on parenting skills, the grant will help provide children with safe, nurturing and learning-rich home environments,” CPCD CEO Noreen Landis-Tyson said. “This will help foster success in school and in their lives beyond formal education.” |

March 2, 2010 - Kevan Worley, a local businessman who has been blind since birth visited a couple of our classrooms to read Green, Eggs and Ham on Dr. Seuss’ birthday. Kevan read the book in Braille, while his audience helped by describing the pictures to him.In order to prepare for the occasion, all of the children wore paper hats and ties. Some of them even had their faces painted. |

February 27, 2010 - Ten CPCD classrooms will be launched into a new world of technology thanks to Teaming for Technology Colorado (T4T) and IBM. CPCD was awarded high-tech “Young Explorers” equipment for our budding computer scientists. Each of the ten classrooms chosen will receive computers fully decked out for children. Special desks will house the computer set-up with lots of learning games and fun. T4T has also offered special classes for CPCD staff to attend. Thank you T4T and IBM! |
